SPARTACUS: Blood and Sand This show is crazy! Blood. Boobs. Blood-covered boobs. It's everything I like in a show and more! There hasn't been a premum cable series that's had me hooked from day one since The Sopranos. Actually, if you mix The Sopranos and Oz with a little 300 and Gladiator, you pretty much have the recipe for this show. The storyline is deep and involving; there's plenty of brains to go with the violence. Catch this show on Starz every Friday and Sunday at 10pm est.
SUPER ASIAN CINEMA EXTREME!!!
Ichi A great continuation of the Zatoichi series of films/tv. Probably could've been a little shorter, but a good flick with good characters and decent swordplay.
Ong Bak 2 Tony Jaa is just such a friggin' bad-ass! I'll admit, I kind of skipped through some of the expositionary parts to get to the action, but that's because I want to see ass-kicking and this movie delivers.
Storm Warriors This movie is anime brought to life. It's a Chinese film, so, if you're familiar with Chinese cinema, there are things you can expect to happen, but the mix of live action and cgi effects is wonderful. Think 'Seven Swordsmen' with more effects.
Hard Boiled Haven't gotten to this one because I've been busy, but I already saw it once before. This is John Woo at his best. If you wanna see a movie that uses more bullets in one scene than all the Rambo movies combined, this is the one for you. Clips that never expend? Check. Magic bullets that never miss? Check. Shooting up an entire group of bad guys while cradling a baby? Check and check!

God of War III This. Game. ROCKS!!! I could not be happier with what they did to it (and what the DIDN'T do to it). It's everything you loved about the first 2 and then some. Kratos is even more badass on the PS3 and the grand scale of this game will have your jaw dropping over and over! The combat is satisfying. The puzzles are good without being overboard. Last, but not least, the story comes to a fitting and worthy end (at least for THIS trilogy). If you own a PS3, you need to own this game. Period.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 I just can't put down Modern Warfare 2! I seriously could have prestiged about 7 times over, by now, but I just can't give up what I've earned (update: halfway through 3rd prestige). I guess it's too much damn fun to pick up and kill annoying people, online, to bother with anything else.

Slash - Slash Guns 'N who? Velvet what? Eh, who needs 'em! Slash teams up with the likes of Iggy Pop, Lemmy, Ozzy and even Fergie in what, to me, is one of the best rock albums of the year! Each song sounds like it was written specifically for the singers involved. Nothing on the album is out of place. The one thing that surprised me the most was how it feels like Slash actually takes a bit of a backseat and lets the songs be songs rather than do what other soloists usually do, which is rip away and show-off, ultimately killing the point of the music. I have a feeling this one will be in my rotation for a while.
Listening to...
Coheed & Cambria - Year of the Black Rainbow I really can't get enough of their music. They do such an amazing job of playing with such technical proficiency without making the music hard to digest. Granted, you can go nuts focusing too much on the conceptual aspects that create the underlying story that colors the songs, but if you put that aside, the music is just great prog rock without being too proggy (is that a word? No? Good. I claim it!). Can't wait for the new album!

Fiya Boyz These are a couple of my closest friends who are big into the electronic stuff. They're slowly building up their catalog of original music, but they've got plenty of mixes available for you to groove to or whatever it is you kids do these days. Just don't fist pump. That's just fucking stupid.
Hey, there! My name is Serge and I'm an alco... wait. Wrong place. Yeah, um... awkwaarrrdddd. Anyway... I'm a designer living in Long Island, NY (last I checked). Do I really need to say anything else? Do you care that I'm into throwing rocks at other rocks because I like the sound? Or that my favorite dish in the whole world is bacon-wrapped bacon?
